Medical Alerts: A Watchful Presence When You Cannot Be There
Medical alert systems help seniors preserve their independence by providing a fast, easy way to get assistance in the case of an emergency. We recommend Personal Emergency Response Systems (PERS) from SafetyChoice®, which are activated with a simple push of a button to summon help.
These systems are activated when a loved one presses a button on a medical alert bracelet or necklace (also known as pendants), which then alerts the SafetyChoice Centralized Monitoring Station. TheSafetyChoice Centralized Monitoring Station will then make the determination of whom to call and in what order.

Medical Alert Bracelets
If a loved one is injured or in other distress, our medical alert bracelets make it easy to contact help. Simply press a button, and our SafetyChoice® Centralized Monitoring Station will respond promptly. Many seniors, particularly men, prefer the convenience of a medical alert bracelet over the necklace or pendant option.
How they work:
The medical alert bracelets send an emergency message via a tabletop console connected to a phone line in the home. These consoles, known as Personal Emergency Response Systems (PERS), offer different configurations and features. Learn more about them below.

Medical Alert Consoles
Medical alert consoles, also known as Personal Emergency Response Systems (PERS), are small, tabletop units used in the home to alert the SafetyChoice® Centralized Monitoring Station when a loved one needs assistance. When the button on an alert bracelet or necklace/pendant (or on the console itself) is pressed, the system becomes a loud, hands-free speaker phone and provides two-way communication to the SafetyChoice Centralized Monitoring Station that is staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
When we receive a distress call, our friendly, experienced staff maintain contact until appropriate assistance arrives, whether it is a neighbor, family member, or emergency medical professional. These consoles connect to either an existing phone line or a cellular service.
A variety of monitoring accessories, such as smoke and motion detectors, can be added to enhance security in the home.
